The author used her own creative illustrations with a cute and entertaining style and added an adventure story line to keep young minds engaged in the characters as the book discusses the Second Amendment and gun safety. It is an excellent tool to use while reading with the child in your life, so they can ask questions. The book also has reached many adult readers who enjoyed the simple introduction to a subject they knew little of before reading the book. As to that storyline, you'll have to read the book to know the whole story, but to give you a very brief snapshot, a collection of characters called snow bears learn about the United States Constitution's Second Amendment. They decide that their country needs a Second Amendment. The story line involving the snow bears is a bit of an adventure that is the backdrop to help explain why a country would want a Second Amendment and what the purpose of it is. Also, first and foremost, the adult snow bears make sure gun safety is on the top of the agenda as the snow bears believe in safety first. You'll meet Po, the main character, and Peanut Butter Pauley. Po becomes an adult snow bear during the course of the book and becomes a mentor. Peanut Butter Pauley is a fun character that adds flavor to the story. They meet each other on a cargo ship that the snow bears end up on during their adventure that they took on one of their chillbergs. A little peak into some of the entertaining material goes to show that this isn't just any educational book. This is a well-written, well-illustrated, and detailed piece of work.
