This book was a very good book. It was hard for me to put down. This book is about an older lady that has a friend that has cancer. They start wondering about things that happened in another friends past after she is long gone. Like a child that she had and gave up and whose child it was. It is a story that has many twists.

This is a heartbreaker and a tear jerker if you can handle it. Deep storyline with incredible characters who became real to me as I read it.

Great read, finished reading in about two days.
Great book about friendship. Very touching.
This story of friends who've known each other for years, but find there's much still to be discovered, is emotional and poignant. Barbara Cohen and her friends grew up in a Washington, D.C., neighborhood after World War II. Now living in North Carolina, her dearest friend Marilyn, who has cancer, needs to tell her something about Penny, another old friend. It isn't long before the secrets of the past transform the present. Riggs Park
Friendship, mystery, love ...Could the answers be found in the old neighborhood? We'd all grown up in D.C. Marilyn, me, Steve, Penny, and Wish ..the boy I'd loved. We arn't young any more. Sometimes there's a chance to go back and right a wrong. Marilyn is convinced Penny had had a baby, and that the child belonged to her family. My lifelong friend can't follow up--she's fighing cancer. Only I can search for answers, but will finding the truth break my heart...or set us all free?
this is a book of frienship and love u will love too read this book it i great
This brand-new book was given to me. I have not read it as it's not my kind of book.
Penny was always extra sensitive. Even at a young age, her childhood friends, Marilyn and Barbara, felt the need to protect her. Then, the terrible thing happend and Penny was never the same. That was many years ago. Decades later, Marilyn (who has cancer) and Barbara (who divorced and has been reunited with her childhood love) learn a lot more about Penny, their childhood and themselves with the help of an elderly woman who lived in their old neighborhood.
A tale of 3 people who grew up in Washington, DC and what happens to them after they're grown.
Wonderful book. A great read. The writer is very smoothe. Two old friends, one of them battling cancer, track down a third friend from their shared past. It gets to be a "can't-put-down" story toward the end.
An absorbing book of four friends now grown up. When one of them gets cancer, it complicates their trying to get closure on events in the past. Fascinating. Very well done - characters seem real.
We'd all grown up in the flourishing Washington, D.C., suburb Marilyn, me, Steve, Penny and Wishthe boy I'd loved. It was during the baby-boom years, when the future was luminous. But things don't always turn out as expected. Riggs Park had secrets, and Penny was one of them.
