Sydney Croft is the pen name for two authors: Stephanie Tyler and Larissa Ione (of Demonica Series fame). This books is erotica m/f with one brief m/m scene (not with hero).

Plot Summary: A man, with amazing abilities regarding the weather, is sought out for recruitment by two agencies dealing with Covert/ Rare Operatives (read: special abilities like telekinesis etc...). The good guys intend to seduce him into their ranks, the bad guys plan to terrorize him. This is the main plot... there are two other subplots going on as well. There are some times when, as another reviewer mentioned, you must work HARD to suspend disbelief.

Main Characters: Remy (hero) and Haley (heroine). Remy is a solid hero. He is written well, so well, that he really does seem to jump right off the pages. Haley, also is written well enough that she seems "real". I liked both characters, didn't love either of them. Haley was competent, intelligent, a bit whiney (her trauma was that her parents loved each other too much! *sob*) Remy was a bit more sympathetic. But both were intelligent, comfortable in their sexuality, solid enough characters.

Best About This Book: VERY well written for an erotica book! Lots of action (in all senses of word) interesting characters, interesting secondary characters, interesting concept (an agency of secret agents who have special psychic abilities). I liked the premise, liked the characters, liked the writing.

Worst About This Book: The sex scenes did seem to go on for awhile. And were very frequent. This is not a minus for an erotica book, usually, but this book was good enough that I actually wanted a little more plot and a little less sex. But really, that wasn't sooo bad *grin*.

Summary: I liked this book. Enough to consider paying full price for the next in the series. DEFINITELY worth a credit. I am passing it on mainly because it is wishlisted to high heaven and it was just shy of keeper status for me. Little less sex, little more plot, slightly more likable heroine and this one would have stayed on my shelf!

This book is HOT, but it lacked a good solid story line. It was more about the sex scenes that about a plot.

1st I've read by this author and really looking forward to more. This book has it all, elementals, psychics, telekinetics and much more. Haley is a parameteorologist sent to bring in Remy, a man who can control the weather (of course there is a need he has when this happens, sex and Haley finds that helping him out with that is no hardship). He is an ex Seal & believes his ability is a curse until Haley shows him it is really a gift. She wants him to join her organization but of course the bad guys want him too. To do that she has to seduce and then betray him. Can he forgive her? Will they come out of this alive? Read to find out. You won't want to put this one down until you are done. Enjoy.

Wow, an author who can make weather sexy! The first of the ACRO books written under the pen name Sydney Croft was a page turner. It had hot sex, lonely and tortured soulmates, good guys vs bad guys [and how to tell the differences] with lots of suspense and action - and that was just the main storyline. Other storylines are included in the book, each with their own players, which are not resolved within this book.

I loved Remy's journey - from feeling he is an unloved, out-of-control outcast to finding love, stability, and a place where the only 'abnormal' is normal... Mechs, weather makers, mediums, psychics, TKs, ghost hunters, girls who bring electricity to heel... it's a paranormal romance reader's wet dream. I will definitely be pursuing this series!

ACRO
1. Riding the Storm (2007)
2. Unleashing the Storm (2008)
3. Seduced by the Storm (2008)
4. Taming the Fire (2009)

So, as long as you're OK with a sex scene every three pages (honest, I could set my clock to them) this book is right up that paranormal romance alley. I thought it was an fresh outlook on a genre overrun by vampires and weres but seriously, how can you have an actual storyline with so much sex? Feels like the author had a good idea but instead of fleshing it out, just filled in the gaps with steamy stuff.

GREAT SERIES! THERE IS A LOT OF INFORMATION IN THIS FIRST BOOK.
ITS PREPARING YOU FOR THE 2ND,3RD. THE 4TH, AND 5TH IN THIS SERIES WILL BE A LITTLE DIFFERENT, BUT STILL RELATES TO THE ACRO.

ACRO stands for Agency for Covert Rare Operatives. This was very X-Men like (w/ the various abilities; being able to control the weather, electricity, seeing ghosts, having a second sight, etc). Remy has the power to control weather (and that is storms). Haley is the ACRO rep sent to watch him and get close to him. As a para-meteorologist she is to determine if his power is real and possibly recruiting him. Haley is also notable in that she is normal.
So of course when they first meet and fall instantly in lust. At the cost of some world building, there were a lot (and I mean a lot) of sexy times in this one. There was also a secondary romance between Annika and Creed. Some of the sex scenes I felt were just put in there for shock value (the example that sticks out is Dev's (the boss) personal assistant (Marlena) giving him a blow job).
This just didn't work for me.

Sigh....not enough plot. I don't mind all the sex, but what I do mind is when the plot revolves around the sex instead of the other way around. I got half way through and gave up.

New author for me, from a small imprint. Good writing style, storyline, and characters. There are plausability issues with some of the plot, but no lack of erotic elements.

This is the first book I've read by Sydney Croft and I'm hooked. I already have the next book to read. It's one of the few books I've read that started with a quick pace and just kept on going. Their was never a dull moment in this book. It had plenty of panty wetting moments. It even had some moments that led you into why each character is the way they are. In this first installments you get introduced to some interesting characters. You only get closure with one character and the rest are left open for future sequels. It leaves enough room to keep you on edge and wishing you had more.

This book is mainly about Haley Holmess, a parameteorologist and exNavy SEAL Remy who has the ability to change and control the weather. The only problem is the fact that the weather sometimes controls him.

Haley understands the weather better then she understands herself. It's the reason she's sent on this mission. She's not an operative by any means, she works behind the scene. This is the first mission she's sent on because of her expertise. She's sent to confirm his gift and real or fake and in the event it's real to gain Remy's trust and bring him on board. Unfortunately it takes one meeting with Remy to realize that she's way over her head. His ability to change the weather is nothing to what he does to her. The pull they have is frightening and irresistible. His insatiability becomes evident and his fear of himself and what he can do is too.....

When the opposing side comes to get Remmy their's no where they can hide..... Can Remmy work as a team to save those he loves and can their connection be the key to controlling his insatiability during a storm??????

A storm's rage. A woman's desire. A man with the power to set them both free.
He can summon lightning at will. Emerge unscathed from the center of a tornado. Strip a woman down to her barest defenses through the sheer force of his sexuality. He's gorgeous, dangerous, and the target of parameteorologist Haley Holmes's latest mission. Haley has been dispatched to the Louisiana bayous to investigate the phenomenon known as Remy Begnaud--a man with a gift he never wanted: the ability to control a storm's fury. But even a woman trained in bizarre weather phenomena has no defense against the electrifying power of the ex-Navy SEAL...a power his enemies would kill to control.

With her agency monitoring their every move, Haley's job is to seduce Remy, gain his trust--and help him harness his extraordinary gift. But who will protect her from this voracious lover who's introducing her to a new world of erotic thrills--a man who grows increasingly insatiable with each new weather event? Haley knows a big storm is approaching--and with it will come unexpected delights. But so, too, will the storm unleash her greatest fears: an enemy bent on destroying Remy. And her worst fear of all-falling in love with this magnificent man, then having to betray him.

My college doesn't even offer a course in parameteorology.
