Shortridge;s books are deceptive; easy reading but very complex characterizations. Great settings and the people are all fascinating with their quirks, flaws and charms. Read her other books also.

The starving artist returns home to mend family bonds. A quick read that almost everyone can relate to in some fashion.

I enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. I thought it was well written and engaging. It certainly was a quick read as I found myself unable to put the book down once I started reading it. The author did a fine job in portraying the effects of mental health problems on all of the characters given the confines of the space allowed in the book. I would read a book by her again.

Found myself caring about the characters in this well written book and missing them when I was finished reading. JS writes well and I enjoyed her descriptive phrasing.
