It might be a standalone but when I started to read this story, I felt like I missed something important. I haven't read th novella crossover for Hard ink /Raven Riders so maybe that had the piece to go with this one. It wasn't a bad story just long winded and I had to start skimming to get through it, it was becoming boring and my mind was never connected to it. The MCs were okay but for them as a couple I didn't see how it would work since Dare was 35 and really afraid to care so anyone else Incase it backfired like it did for his mother and brother and couldn't trust. Haven is a meek 23, shy, scared and broken and on the run from her criminal father and scared to fall for anyone because of what her father did to the last boy she fell for. But her baking, her innocent temperament and caring showed Dare what he wanted.
