A decent conclusion to the Firefighters of Station 5 series. The mystery and suspense were engaging, but the long-anticipated romance between Sean and Eve fell just a little flat. I was expecting more romance from them. Sean's pain over the loss of his family, his alcoholism, and his courageous struggle back to the living was heartfelt. However, I felt his agony more in snippets of the previous books of the series. It was the same with Eve's unrequited love for Sean. There was more sexual tension in the previous stories. So when they finally come together, it was sudden; there really wasn't any romantic build up. Besides all of this, Ride the Fire was still an exciting read; just a little lighter than I had hoped. 3.5 stars.

I had been waiting and waiting for Sean's story and this was very good. I thought it rather unbelievable that the villian waited so long to exact his revenge, but the suspense part was pretty good. I enjoyed the romance part with Eve and was glad that she finally got her HEA.
