Very Good book for this author, lots of room to expand here. would enjoy the author to continue the story or even back date a book or to to explain / explore other storylines within this venue. I've always enjoyed artifact books this one has a Gateway effect with a twist .... lots of other alien races.

A fun read, somewhat like a John Ringo novel. Not serious SF, no deep thinking required. Don't need to know about Quantum Physics or anything similar. Just good guys and bad guys and those those that see their job as separate from good or evil. Ansasins, mercenaries, space marines, and at least one traitor.

If you've played the Mass Effect video game(s), then this adds a lot of fantastic back story to two of the major characters from the original story line. If you haven't played the game(s), then this is a mediocre science fiction book.
