Fiercely devoted to her people and her land, Queen Adara refuses to let a power-mad usurper steal her crown. But the only way to protect what is hers is to seek out the man she married in childhood.
A proud, tormented warrior, Christian of Acre owes allegiance only to the mysterious Brotherhood-and has no wish to be king over anyone but himself. Now a bold and beautiful stranger has appeared in his rooms tempting him with an irresistible seduction and demanding he accompany her back to their kingdoms...or, at the very least, provide her with an heir to her throne. Though he cannot abandon the brave regal lady to her enemies, Christian dares not give in to his traitorous body's desires. Yet how can he deny the passion that is rightfully his and the ecstasy that awaits him in Adara's kiss?
A great read! I dare you not to fall in love with all the characters in this book. I read this in two days!

I've only read the "Warrior" from the series and I found this one a bit slower. It was terribly sweet though and there were more mushy scenes. It was a fun read and I think my favorite character from the series so far is Phantom.
Christian and Adara were good characters. Adara was a little too perfect for me. Her faith in Christian was sometimes unbelievable.
Good, quick read.

a good book with a strong and brave heroine; an equally wonderful "knight in shining armor"...literally; sure he has issues but what man doesn't ;-)

MacGregor writes another page turner! My only regret is that I get through these so quickly.

Part of the Brotherhood of the Sword series, Queen Adara fights to keep her crown from a usurper. The only way to do this is to seek out the man she married in childhood. Christian of Acre owes allegiance only to the Brotherhood and has no wish to be king of anything. But bound by his oaths to the Brotherhood, he cannot abandon the lady to her enemies. He just has to secure her kingdom while denying the allure of his wife. Its too bad his rightful desire for her is making his life extremely hard.
Another good on in this series.
