I thought this was going to be a chick lit book. And it did start out much like I expected. But as the story progresses there are wonderful personal and family relations that are explored. Good times, and bad times are experienced. Throw in a little trivia, gardening, and humor and you have A GREAT book!

I felt the need to add a review to this, because this is book is sort of not well-known that I know of, but I really enjoyed it! The character seems real and is very interesting. This book has a chick lit quality but is way less fluffier than some. I surprisingly enough, enjoyed reading about the perspectives of a tax auditor and the character in this book is seriously funny! Also, the same charm and humor that is in the beginning of the book, lasts throughout, unlike some books that start off great but lose steam halfway through. I do recommend this book and will definitely be reading her first book as well.

I LOVED this book! I read her debut novel first and really loved the complexity of the characters, her sometimes off beat humor, and her writing style. The Return of Jonah Gray was even better, which I didn't think possible.
I personally like a good story that makes me really feel like I know the characters invovled, and that the story from beginning to end is consistent. Cochran delivers.

I especially like that there is only mild cursing and no unnecessary sexual descriptions in either book.

I hated to see both books end, wished I could see where the characters where 5 years down the road. Totally recommend if you like a good story!

Nice surprise and a very pleasant read. Who could love an IRS tax auditor? That is the premise of the book, but there is much more to the story. Cochran wrote an easy to read book about the messiness that is family. This is just her first book, hopefully there will be more.
