I have read all the Dark Hunters books and wait for new ones to be released. The books are always worth the wait. However, this book was a disappointment. I had grown use to steamy love scenes and lots of characters. Retribution had none of these things. I was sorely disappointed and will wait until paperback version is released from now on.

Let me start by saying that I discovered Kenyon's Dark Hunters when I picked up Sin's story, and then immediately went to the book store for all the others. And even though I am familiar with the Vegas setting, this book was on a whole new playing field. We have a new pantheon of Native American ancestry, and more gods and spirits to learn about. I was confused in the beginning, and if it weren't for the established Dark Hunters popping into the story, i wouldn't have guessed it was a Dark Hunter novel. Once I let go of my stubbornness over my beloved New Orleans Dark Hunters, I really got into this story. Jess and Abby are a great couple, but the group as a whole was amazing. Sasha is absolutely hilarious and I want to take him home and keep him!! The Native American history is a little hard to follow at times, and after reading Kenyon's "authors note", I see why this is such a passionate topic for her. I appreciated it all the more. It is not my favorite of the series, but I did enjoy it. It's still a keeper for me.

As for the bonus scene, (spoiler alert) thank you Kenyon for giving us a much needed glimpse at Acheron. I have missed Simi so much!!! I can't wait to get to read about them again, and see what's planned for Ash's son........

I have read all the dark hunter novels and I have to say the beginning was a bit confusing, especiallly the part about Abigail's mother and everything else in Sundown's past. But within 1/3 of the book it gets really fast-paced and fun.

I loved visiting all the old characters and I loved the new gods. Overall a good read. Abigail was really annoying in the beginning but I grew to tolerate her.

The bonus story was a bit lame. I get tired of the "birthing" as a traumatic event storyline even though the ending with Artemis was sweet.

For me this book was disappointing. It was 'off the beaten path' as her usual DH books, but I was unaware when I started the book and ended up confused more often than not. I had a hard time keeping track of the Guardians; I was at odds with the scene changes, for example at one point I thought they were in a cave and suddenly they were in a big round room; for those of you that care, only one sex scene; the banter between characters was lame, along with most of the jokes; a couple of times when the main character was remembering a past life, there didn't seem to be any transition and for a few minutes I thought she actually was in her past life; and how did this little woman manage to kill those she killed? (trying not to give anything away) Reading this book I said, "Wait, what?" way too many times.
The xtra story at the end was pretty cool, but I have no idea why it was there.

I enjoyed "Retribution". Unlike some of the others of the series, it was not filled with sex scenes every 6 pages.

Kenyon has based this series on Greek mythology and now brings in Native American legends and beliefs. The Daimons are based on a Tsalagi (native american tribe) "boogeyman".

Remember Sunshine Runningwolf in the 2nd Dark Hunter book? She was a complete pleasure to read about.

I am looking forward to the next books if she will be expanding further into Native American legends and beliefs to go along with the Greek Mythology.

This book was a really good read, it was as if it was setting you up for the next one in line. I can't wait!

I did not like this book and did not finish it. I do not think Kenyon wrote it as it was not her style of writing. The writing was childish and boring. I would not recommend this book.

Great book. Not the normal DH storyline but lots of character interaction & love.

Not the best in the series as I was able to put it down, which I usually can't with her books. It was okay, a little scattered, with not the usual flow. But still a good read.
