Finally someone stepped up to the challenge - Christian fiction in a different voiceGod fearing African American males. Quincy, Jamal, Chauncey and Will all come from different backgrounds but they shared a life altering weekend at the annual Mens Church retreat. Pastor Dawkins shares the powerful word of God at church and God uses him to prick the hearts of men at the Retreat. All for men confront their fears, acknowledge wrongs, take responsibility and accept God during their weekend together. Their lives will be forever entwined by the events that transpired.

Moss allows us in a scared meeting the mens retreat. His character development is a work of art and the four distinct stories intersect using the supporting cast. There were a few instances that the storyline slowed but it all came together near the end. THE RETREAT brings forth the strong and commanding voice of a group that is making a comeback God Fearing, Educated and Emotional men that want to take their rightful place as the cornerstone of the African American family. Thank you Moss for calling attention to a group often overlooked. I recommend this Christian Fiction title for all that believe that we can do all things through Christ.
