I was surprised by the age group this book is for also. I thought it was aimed for more of an older crowd. But I thought it was a very good book. Quick and fun. It got a bit confusing in parts, but that was mostly because the author refers to the other person as "you" instead of his actual name. All and all, a pretty good book, though.
A fast read. I didn't think this was a very good book.
I read this book a few years ago, when I was in high school. I don't know if I would recommend it for children between the ages of 9-12. Maybe kids are growing up faster now, but I don't think I would want my baby sisters reading this book before high school. The issues of suicide and eating disorders do need to be dealt with, but I was shocked when I saw the age level posted here.
