Around the time that the calendar changed from the 20th to the 21st century, Craig MacInnis put out a series of 6 books featuring various articles and photographs of a historic hockey superstar. I read the first 5 years ago and FINALLY got my hands on "Remembering Bobby Orr" a couple of months ago.

In my opinion, "Remembering Bobby Orr" is the best book in the series. Perhaps this is because I knew what to expect a combination of new and reprinted articles by the editor (Mr. MacInnis) and others, interspersed with various photographs of the (mostly) hockey life of the subject. Perhaps it is because he did such a great job of picking out which stories to include and in what order, and when to augment with new material. Or, and I'm just postulating aloud here, perhaps it's simply that Bobby Orr's career lends itself to this kind of storytelling. (Special mention must be made that the final article in the book was contributed by one of Mr. Orr's greatest fans, Don Cherry.)

At any rate, in my opinion, while his other books on Tim Horton, Rocket Richard, and others were very good, THIS one was excellent.

RATING: 5 stars.
