This book has 2 distinct stories in it - one story uses the writing style of Nora Roberts and the other story uses the JD Robb style with Eve and Roarke in it. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book.

Really great idea to have a Nora Roberts and a J. D. Robb continuing story! It was hard to put down. This is the only In Death book I have read out of order, but I had bought it for a friend, then wanted to read it out of curiosity; hoping it was as good as the reviews. It was!

Remember When was pretty good. Part One was Roberts story and it dealt with Laine and Max. Laine's dad is a thief and was involved in a big diamond heist. Max is the investigator hired to recover the stolen diamonds. Laine and Max cross paths when a friend and partner of her dad's contacts her after the crime. I thought the mystery of this story was OK, but I really liked Laine and Max as characters. They were really good people and I was glad they were together. 3.5 stars

Part Two was Robb's story. Laine and Max's granddaughter wrote a book about how they met and their involvement with the diamonds. Not all of the diamonds were recovered and now, 50 years later, someone is killing in order to find them. Once again, the mystery was OK. However, I just love all of the characters in the In Death series. Their interactions keep me interested a lot more than suspenseful aspect of the story. 4 stars

I love this book. Nora Roberts is one of my favorite authors, and she is just as good as J. D. Robb. The Eve Dallas series is especially good. This book combines the two works beautifully. I have read it 3 times, and had lost my copy. I had to have it in my collection

Really good book! I got it because I adore the J.D Robb series. I have had it forever and never read it because...I don't know, I guess I thought it would just be a short story and wouldn't really be about the 'In Death' series. But that was not true at all and it was great. The first story was good too and the 'In Death' one just continued from it. Very good.

In this mystery, written by both Nora Roberts and her alter-ego persona, J.D. Robb, stolen diamonds are the background for two inter-related stories. In part one, Nora Roberts spins a tale about millions of dollars of diamonds, the daughter of a thief, the insurance investigator, the con-man father, and the murdering psychopath hunting them all. In part two, fifty-something years have passed and the action switches from the sleepy Maryland town of the first part to New York. Lt. Dallas begins by investigating a murder during a supposed B & E, but quickly realizes that the current crimes are merely backstory to a search for the remaining quarter of the diamonds missing from the original heist.

*MINOR SPOILER*
I love the aspects of Peabody and Dallas trying to figure out their new partnership!

Love this series. The J.D. Robb part was good. I didn't get as much from the Nora Roberts part.
