I really like her writing and style of mystery. Just enough intrigue to keep me reading, yet not over the top on scary.
Another outstanding page turner of MHC! Couldn't put it down!

Kind of sad but good
So many twists & turns...loved it!
If you enjoy mystery books as much as I do, then you will definitely enjoy this one. Plus, this book isn't just about a good mystery.. it's about a failing marriage, love, getting over a loved one, learning to move on, and so much more. It's a beautiful work and all of the characters were also so well-written.

Another Mary Higgins thriller. Forced to relive the tragic accident that took her small boys life, Menley begins to fear for her daughters life. Her family she fears is in real danger.
Menley and Adam move to a rental on Cape Cod with their baby daugther to try and put the past behind them, which includes the death of their son. Then things start to happen with the retal, does Menley know this house, Matt starting a murder trial, and now is the terror for the family just begginning. A very readable thriller.
All suspense fans will love this one!
"#1 New York Times Bestseller"
Wow!! A friend recommended this book to me...oh I'm so thankful she did...this is an edge of your seat type of book....with a twister at the end...you'll love it and you'll read it in one sitting...
Mystery your thing? Then she's great. once of my first novels I ever read outside of school was one of MHClark's books.
On my personal scale I gave this book a B+. I would have given it an A but for some reason the main character's name irritated me LOL. Menley and her husband are living on Cape Cod where Menley is suffering from Post Pardom Depression after having their baby Hannah coupled with the constant reminder that she was driving when a train struck the car killing her first child Bobby. So when Menley starts hearing things in their big house on the Cape it is so very hard to determine if she is really hearing things or if she is venturing off this side of sanity. This is a fairly good mystery and once again proves why MHC is the Queen of Suspense. It keeps you wondering about Menley through the whole thing. On a side note I did feel that there were a few too many characters that I had a little trouble keeping straight but overall this did not effect my enjoyment of the book.
This book had a very believable plot with a wide cast of characters who are well defined. I had a hard time putting this book down, even though I had figured out the "bad guy" was early on in the book. The conclusion was very well done and quite satisfying. A very good read.
Another excellent story by Mary Higgins Clark. Once again, another book that was hard to put down.
My all time FAVORITE Mary Higgins Clark story. The lead character, Menley grabs you on the first page and doesn't let go. From her pain, joy, and fear, you go on a roller coaster ride that reaches a satisfying conclusion at a place you might not expect.
I would recomend this book to anyone - whether they are already a mystery buff, or if they're just starting to peruse the genre.

Menley is losing her mind... or is she?
i really enjoyed this book. there were a couple of interesting plot twists, and the ending genuinely surprised me. initially it takes awhile to set everything up, but then it becomes a real page turner.
