I read this book when I was 12 years-old and I still remember it as my #1 favorite book. During my teens, Pike came out with #2 and it just didn't have the same feel. To me "Remember Me" will always stand alone in time as this one amazing tale of a girl who longed to tell the story of her short life. She finds a way to do it after she dies by joining forces with an old friend who helps her prove that her life ended by murder and not suicide. It's an amazing book and I HIGHLY recommend it.
My favorite Christopher Pike book, a great read and a story that sticks with you long after you've turned the last page. When I was eleven I purchased and read this book for the first time -- and I still read it at least once a year as a grown woman pushing thirty. :)
I promise NO SPOILERS IN MY REVIEW!!
I recently bought Christopher Pikes new Omnibus edition in the store brand new and 'Remember Me' was the first story.
I loved Pike when i was younger and was excited to read one of his stories i had never read before. So i started reading this one right away. Instead of Reviewing the three stories together im just going to review them one at a time. It seems thats only fair.
So Remember Me, I have read many mystery books and so on, And i knew who the killer was almost immediately! My sister read it and had no clue who it was, sooo im not sure if its all that easy to figure out but i just went with my gut.
Although i figured out the murderer, you dont know exactly who it is til the end and there is a very big secret that came out of left field and I thought it was pretty interesting. So even though i figured the killing part out, The mystery was really good.
I really enjoyed this book and im 26. I love long novels that are very complex dont get me wrong but sometimes you need an easy read like Pike. I love it!
This was one of his better ones. At first i didnt like the main character but you start to like her, and she has a very strong opinion and Pike lets the character 'speak up'
Anyways, i give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I would recommend this to any age except the very young. The concept of death in books can scare people, so if your sensitive to that I wouldnt read it.
But it was good how it ended, and how there actually is life after death. . ..
