If you are a Stephen King fan, Richard Bachman (wink, wink) will not disappoint you. The story is engrossing and confusing at first and you may (or may not) wonder what the Hell is going on (this will make sense if you've read enough King) but all comes together in the end and you are left with an appreciation of the author's creativity.
The story is an original and I'm looking forward to reading "Desperation" as well.

Really strange King novel. But will scare you all the same.
very weird.
Another awesome book by King! The ending was great!
Richard Bachman did not die. He reincarnated as Stephen King.
This is the companion volume to Stephen King's "Desperation", and is a great read when considering most of the characters appeared in "Desperation", too, although here they are in a completely different setting but battling the same enemy. Think of it as parallel universes with a common menace, and you'll latch on to the gimmick of "Desperation" and "The Regulators". I haven't heard that this is King's best work, but it is certainly engaging and involves his usual ensemble of characters battling against a demented, weirdly evil foe. This was a fun and thrilling read, with shocks of graphic violence interspersed in the tale of a power so evil and so great that it can bend the very fabric of reality itself. At times the situation feels hopeless, as if the characters are doomed, but the resolution and ending of this book make the arduous journey worthwhile.
Bachman--I mean King--classic
Reminded me of fahrenheit 451 or 1984
If you like weird creepy this is for you ! It was original and great!
Scary, scary, scary!
This book was bought for me & is in good condition I thought it was an excellent book.
Yet another thrilling read by Stephen King. Loved it!
Stephen King -- again and again and again.
The Regulators, is a harrowing story of a suburban neighborhood in the grip of surreal terror. A Steven King thriller.
It's a summer afternoon in Wentworth, Ohio, and on Poplar Street everything's normal. The paper boy is making his rounds;the Carver kids are bickering at the corner convenience store;a Frisbee is flying on the Reeds' lawn; Gary Soderson is firing up the backyard barbecue. The only thing that doesn't quite fit is the red van idling just up the hill. Soon it will begin to roll, and the killing will begin. A quite slice of American suburbia is about to turn to toast.
The same old stuff King is always regurgitating lately. Nothing all that original. Another one of his "group of people in peril" stories. Yawn.
Excellent book. Typical Stephen King! This is from England & is supposedly a First Edition (not sure how to tell myself.)
