Well done!
I was curious to see how the Revolutionary War books were handled. I was particularly curious if the claim would be made that God was on the Americans side -which, since there were God-fearing men on both sides would seem a little conceited. I was pleased that in this book at least that is not the case (haven't yet read the other two in this arc). It is (rightly) noted that many clergy were involved in the war & that the idea of separation of church and state as understood today was a foreign concept back then. Good introduction to the Revolutionary War for young elementary age children - looking forward to the next two in this story-arc.
The simple language, illustrations, & easy-to-read larger font makes this series perfect for young readers.
