This book was not really very interesting. Some pages have LOTS of words, not hard ones, just lots, which kind of overwhelmed my first grader; but then there are a few pages with no words & that kind of helped her to understand that it wasn't really a LONG book. The illustrations weren't enough to grab her attention & keep her interested either. In a nutshell: not an interesting story, not good illustrations, easy enough to read, but definitely not one that you HAVE to keep in your library forever because you just can't bear to part with it.
