There are a few chapters before Jolson. The text includes lyrics to tell the story, as well as many photos (both of a scene and a formal portrait) and drawings, including a few well chosen caricatures. This is a major book and it was very generous of the Doboroffs of Virginia, our fellow PBS members, to ship it.
