May Sarton, peot, author, feminist speaker and writer and teacher. Her journals written over a number of years have been appreciated by millions of women everywhere. This is of her 66th year in 1978-9, when she was recovering from a stroke. Sarton's fiction, I think, rates a B or B+. Her poetry is better. And her journals are written from a heart sometimes angry, sometimes full...always most interesting. She was not an easy woman to know, from what I have read, and one gets a glimpse of that turbulent spirit from her journals.
