Very good book in and of itself. Very much military and very much true to the original movie.

IF you are a fan of the Stargate SG-1 television series, this is a totally different take on the "after the movie" universe. This book follows the canon of the movie...Kurt Russel not Richard Dean Anderson...

I liked both branches of the continuation, but for someone who has followed the television series, this will be a bit of a jolt.

Pretty good read, but the ending (what little there was of one) definitely sets up the following books in the series, so I would recommend having those on-hand as to not have to wait to see what happens (as I did).

Being a HUGE fan of Stargate SG-1 & Atlantis, this was quite a departure from the plotlines and characterizations I was used to. However, if you can forgo all of that continuity and start fresh from the end of the movie, the direction that the author takes is certainly and interesting one.

Fans of SG-1 & Atlantis might have some issues with that direction, but if you're a Stargate completist then I would definitely recommend this book.

Really enjoyed it! It is based more on characters and the way they were in the movie as opposed to the TV series. I plan to read the others as well as the SG-1 and Atlantis ones
