I think this book didn't work for me because I'm a 40 something reader who doesn't usually venture into YA. Please take this review with that large grain of salt! I really enjoy Alice Hoffman's magical realism but the lack of color and magical river just didn't make sense to me here. I really like learning though historical fiction and did pick up some information about Hungary. I have some misgivings about polyamory in a book for teens, but maybe that's just proof of my age.
