I found this to be a delightful, warm, charming story that made me smile and made me think. I loved the small town feel of the story and the believeable characters. I know these people, I have them in my family. It's not a new book, but it's traditional in feel.

Raney rates high on my "laugh out loud" list. Two people that match.dot would light a match to their resumes rather than ever consider pairing them, somehow through the power of love marry and sort out their varying cultural backgrounds. I was amused, as a northerner, by the colloquialisms. Example: women swimming at the beach loses the top half of her bikini exposing her "dinners". Certainly worth a read!

Good story, well written characters
Very funny, although my favorite Clyde Edgerton book remains "Walking across Egypt".
This has to be one of the funnest books I have ever read. I laughed so hard thru out the book. Being born and raised in the south, I truly felt like I was reading about my relatives. I st6ill have my copy and will not give it up...but if you see one listed...grab it.

Raney is a gemand a captivating character-a female Huck Finn whose voyage of discovery takes her into the treacherous currents of marriage. This book is too good to keep to yourself. Read it aloud to someone you love then send it to a friend but keep a copy yourself because you'll want to read it again and again. Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey author of "A woman of Independent Means".
