Extremely through overview of everything New Orleans has to offer...excellent maps, schedules, locations, stories, contact info about tours ect. What I found very helpful was that the author would provide warnings on the safety of different sites...any site/area that is in a high crime area is noted....a lot of them are marked...visit during the day, in a large group, carry no valuables, ect.....a sad, but necessary guide to our society's decay. Also features a lot of historical & architectual info/stories/drawing.......tips on how best to enjoy Mardi Gras...and gives you the best places to stay, where to watch the parades ect. Perfect guide, but it was printed before Katrina, so sad to say, some of the info/places may have changed in the interum. Was never able to make the trip myself, but I did enjoy the book. Godspeed.
