Three women--2 American and 1 British--were in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the same time and all three died in England. Scotland Yard Superintendent Richard Jury pursues the American connection and "falls" for a 13-year-old girl with a pet coyote. Friend Melrose Plant and the annoyingly always-right Commander Macalvie tackle the British end. If you are paying attention and thinking you can't miss the solution. But who does that?

Quirky characters help Scotland Yard's Superintendent Richard Jury solve murders (and entertain along the way).

When three women die of natural causes in London and the West Country, there appears to be no connectionor reason to suspect foul play. But Scotland Yard Superintendent Richard Jury has other ideas, and before long hes following his keen police instincts all the way to Santa Fe, New Mexico.

FROM THE PUBLISHER
An elderly tapister keels over in Exeter Cathedral while viewing the famous embroidered rondels. A woman's body is found in Salisbury, and in London yet another woman dies from supposed "natural causes." But there are no natural causes in a Martha Grimes novel or in the world inhabited by Scotland Yard Chief Superintendent Richard Jury. Is there a link connecting these three women? Of course. Jury is convinced that the link is Santa Fe, New Mexico. Leaving Melrose Plant, ex-earl and amateur sleuth, to pursue inquiries in London, Jury heads over to the States, where, surrounded by turquoise jewelry and a thirteen-year-old girl with a pet coyote, he searches for and finds an astonishing web of greed, murder, and mayhem.

I sincerely enjoyed the whole series of these books. Light mysteries but no gore.

This book was given to me and I am not a big Martha Grimes fan so the book has not been read and I cannot give an acurate review
