Based on author's couple of years doing doctoral dissertation research in fluvial geomorphology (processes and landforms of rivers). Illustrated with black and white photos. Author has a poetic as well as a scientific bent to her writing.She studied the Burdekin and Herbert Rivers in northeastern Queensland the the East Alligator River in the Northern Territory.
