I wanted to enjoy this book more than I actually did. I couldn't get in sync with the author's pace-it felt like it was trying to move quickly but didn't. Had to read to the end to find out what happened, though.

I am totally enjoying Lacey and her friends. I wish I had a stylist like Stella.....or do I?? And Vic, well we could ALL use a Vic. Lacey just falls into these murders, uses fashion to figure out who did it, and always gets her man - or woman.
This book takes her to Paris and then to New Orleans to solve the mystery of a long lost Romanov corset and also the related murder of Magda Rousseau, a corset creator. Magda tells Lacey the tale of the corset and Lacey gets permission from her paper to go to Paris to cover the story with Magda. Unfortunately Magda is stabbed and/or poisoned before she can make the trip. Lacey goes on, taking her friend and lawyer, Brooke, with her. She had Vic are on the outs but don't worry, we all know how that will end!

each book gets better and better. This is a series and I think best read in order. But the books have a great plot, lots of good humor, and wonderful characters.
lots of fun!

I loved her 1st and 2nd book. Great writer. Missed on her 3rd book. This was just not quiet as good. It was still good enough, but it just seemed flat. I was also disturbed me that VIC would just beat up Nigel at random when He didnt like him or something he said. Not nec in self defense. I can understand the fights during self defense. So much of the book with Nigel and THE KGB guy seemed dull, useless, and poorly written It seems like she tried to rush this book in the series and could spent more time editing and fine tuning her story. It is set in Paris and New Orleans-mainly and maybe the writer just couldnt make her character believable outside of DC. Even the Crimes of Fashion column seemed flat in this book. You read it and you decide. It has some great parts. But she seemed to fall down on the great mystery part this time.
love the book

good mystery, lots of action, laughs and general good fun. I love it doesn't have seamy sex scenes. Some romance, but all in all a good light read.
The title on the cover is "Raiders of the Lost Corset" not Raiders of the Corset which is the title attached to the isbn.
