Gardner is an excellent storyteller. This is a well-thought-out plot, well developed, memorable characters, and even a twist of Eastern religion. Plus, Gardner's characters don't take themselves too seriously, with occasionally humorous results. Highly recommended.

An interesting S. F. take on the world in the future. Mankind may into the stars, but our human foibles will follow us there.
