A reader raved about this book on Romantic Times, Letter to the Editor page. So I gave it a try.

This is a great first book from a talented author. This historical western (nice to read a historical that is not a Regency for a change) has a great story with a terrific romance. The author brings much emotion to the scenes.

The hero, Sager, is tough yet gentle with Rachel. And Rachel is able to dig herself deep into his heart before he even knows what hit him!

Try it if you are an American historical western fan.

Very good book! It sucked me in and wouldn't release me, and I still wish for more. Great characters & wonderful story.

I normally don't read western historical romances, but decided to give this a chance. I've read better and I've read worse. The story is interesting enough though predictable. The heroine isn't one of those too stupid to live heroines. The hero has a lot of angst. There are some racy scenes between the two, but it was nothing shocking. I read erotica so the scenes in this book were fairly tame in my opinion. All in all, a nice western story with a big dose of romance.

Loved this book. Elaine Levine is a great new voice for historical western fiction. The characters are so genuine. I could feel their emotions and readily identified with their fears, hopes and joys. I stayed up most of one night to read this book.
