After reading more than 100 pages, I found that it was a struggle to continue any further. Due to my passion for animals, I was excited to receive this book. I have nothing against any race, religion or faith, yet the perpetual references to God and the main characters' religious beliefs as the possible explanation for the hardships they faced were a bit too much for me. From what I managed to read prior to calling it quits, I do have to say that this book was well written. Just not my cup of tea.
