As a former Navy SEAL turned cop, Joe Quinn has seen the face of evil and knows just how dark the shadows of the soul can turn. But when he met Eve Duncan a decade ago, he never expected to fall in love with a woman whose torment has ultimately fueled her twin desires to bring her missing daughter home and reveal the truth of her disappearance, no matter how devastating it may be. Eve's fateful first love, John Gallo, seems to hold the key to the mystery of young Bonnie's fate. With Joe's life hanging in the balance at the hands of John, justice may never be served - unless CIA agent Catherine Ling, who owes her own child's life to Eve and Joe, can outsmart him at his own game.

I found this book to be very exciting and suspenseful in its own right, full of strong characters and well-written. but the book was not really my cup of tea. This is the second book in a trilogy, and I must say that because I hadn't read the first book it took me a while to realize what was going on. I give Quinn by Iris Johansen an A!

I love everything I've read in the Eve Duncan series and this is no different. This is the second book in the revealing of Eve, Quinn and Bonnie. I've always wondered what Joe Quinn's story was and this is it. I was sort of surprised at the love at first sight aspect upon meeting Eve Duncan for the first time when he was investigating the disappearance of her daughter, Bonnie. I was shocked to find out that he was such a womanizer. I would never have thought since he is stuck like glue to Eve. It really was fascinating to read his account of their relationship.

Of course the book is about the continuing hunt for Bonnie's killer too and leaves us hanging by our fingernails for the final installment of the quest for Bonnie's killer.

LOVED the EVE book and I typically really enjoy all of Johansen's books. However, I felt somewhat cheated in the Quinn book. 164 of the 374 pages were a flashback to how Eve and Quinn met and their first attempt at searching for Bonnie. As someone who has read all of the other books in the series I know who everything was going to turn out already - it was boring. I knew John Logan was going to have to come onto the seen before anything was going to happen with them and the search for the killer was going to be futile. I would have rather known more details about Quinn's first marriage which was touched on breifly in one of the early books or his experiences with the Seals. I really enjoyed the flashback chapters in EVE about John Gallo because we never previously heard much. I felt like Quinn's flashback was recycled (yet elaborated) material. Love Iris Johansen but I really hope BONNIE is more substantial and worth the wait. Disappointed with QUINN.

Loved it. Very quick read. Action packed. Couldn't wait to read the next in this series.
