Eve continues to be obsessed with the loss of her daughter Bonnie. She receives a phone call from a mysterious man claiming to know where the body is. As Eve and her friend joe Quinn become involved in the search for the brilliant and disturbed killer Eve must come to terms with her relationship with Joe, her attraction to the arms dealer Luis Montalvo and her inability to let Bonnie go. Along the way she crosses paths with a psychic who has her own horrifying problems to deal with. In the end will Eve find Bonnie's body and find piece or will her obsession drive Joe away. Some very interesting turns and twists make his a fun and interesting read.

This was another really good read in the Eve Duncan series, although I still find myself getting tired of Eve on occasion. I was happy to see a reappearance of Montalvo, was a little perked up by the fact that Joe Quinn grew a new backbone in this story, and was really excited by the part that Megan Blair played in the story (see PANDORA'S DAUGHTER).

I know that Eve needs to find the body of her daughter, Bonnie, for closure. I know that she's obsessed with this task. But, sometimes, you just want to smack her for letting it ruin so many other aspects of her life.

Many times throughout QUICKSAND I had to wonder what either Joe or Montalvo see in this woman -- I think she'd drive me batty. No matter what happens in the long run, though, I hope to see more of a paranormal aspect to the storyline: and it seems that there will be, what with the way the story ends.

If you're a follower of the Eve Duncan series, you'll want to read this one. It's good overall, and you can always hope that Montalvo comes to his senses and looks for a new woman to obsess over soon.

This is like all of Iris Johansen's books - grabs you right from the first page and keeps going full-throttle to the last page.

This book is about Eve Duncan. She lost her only child to a killer years ago. She is a
forensic sculptor, she spends her life trying to bring all missing children home to their family. She is obsessed with finding her daughters' remains some day.

A ruthless mass murder has learned how to horrify her and taunts' Eve about what happened to her little girl.

This book is brilliantly written.

Iris Johansen tells a great story. Once again Eve Duncan is embroiled in a deperate search to bring home Bonnie. The book is hard to put down. I don't really like the supernatural aspect. But it is still a great story. I only wish we were able to see into the mind of the villain a little more, if only to see how he became so evil.
