While reading this book, I realized that had I started this series with book one I might not have kept reading. This book is very underdeveloped and reads almost like a long definition of Sands version of Vapmire or rather Immortal. I suppose my point is that if you are unsure after reading this book if you should check out the others, I strongly suggest you do and I believe you will find the further this series goes the stronger and more rewarding the stories.

It only took me three days to complete this one, and I liked it. There is no uncomfortable sexual scenes, one after another like most books. It keeps moving very quickly like watching a good movie it keeps your interest nicely. It is not how you would think by the back introduction, but it is much better. No one is as they seem at first and more of a change by the end. A definate recomend.

Not a favorite. Expect run on sentences, and over explanations. I found myself simply skimming the pages in order to get to the exiting bits. And, I don't mean the romance. This book had little plot development and if you are looking for romance you will find very little. Sands version of vampires, whilst unique, has no intrigue or mystery...in a word, boring.

Book One of Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series. I liked Sands' take on the origin of vampires - it was very creative. This book was a little bit too fluffy for my taste. I like my vampire books a little more scary. It was a quick, fun read, though. If you're a fan of Lynsay Sands, and you're not looking for Laurell K. Hamilton or Kim Harrison-style vampires, you'll like this book.
SYNOPSIS:
That hot guy tied to Lissianna Argeneau's bed? He's not desserthe's the main course!
Lissianna has been spending her centuries pining for Mr. Right, not just a quick snack, and this sexy guy she finds in her bed looks like he might be a candidate. But there's another, more pressing issue: her tendency to faint at the sight of blood . . . an especially annoying quirk for a vampire. Of course it doesn't hurt that this man has a delicious-looking neck. What kind of cold-blooded vampire woman could resist a bite of that?
Dr. Gregory Hewitt recovers from the shock of waking up in a stranger's bedroom pretty quicklyonce he sees a gorgeous woman about to treat him to a wild night of passion. But is it possible for the good doctor to find true love with a vampire vixen, or will he be just a good meal? That's a question Dr. Greg might be willing to sink his teeth into . . . if he can just get Lissianna to bite.

I though this book was ok. I consider it vampire fluff compared to other vampire books I've read. It was a cute story but, I wasn't crazy aobut somethings in it. Like how they could go out durring the day.

This was a very good book. It make me laugh out loud. It is a love story, not with a lot of killing like other vampire books can be. It had a cute plot. This story is about a vampire who faints at the site of blood and what her mother tries to do to cure her phobia. This is the first Lynsay Sands book I have read and I am definitely going to read the rest of the series if they are like this first book.
I love Sand's vampires. Genetic anomoly rather than undead scary monster. Though this is the first in the Argeneau series, it wasn't the first written. I do recommend that if you haven't read this series you start with this one and continue in the order they were meant to be in. Next up? Love Bites

The Argeneau Family series. Whoever heard of a vampire fainting at the sight of blood? When Lissianna's mother kidnaps Dr. Gregory Hewitt to cure her daughter of her hemophobia, the laughs really start. Full of humor and romance. I love Sand's vampire series.

I found this to be an enjoyable book, what i would call a "lighthearted" vampire story. Not to be compared to Anne Rice or Jennifer Armintrout,. more of a comedy type book. I liked it and will read more.
Helpful Score: 2
A quirky fun twist on the vampire genre. However, take away the mature content and I would peg this as a teen book: very easy read, overly simplistic characters, linear and predictable plot, and every single character is a vision of perfection. Still it's a fun story, if you're looking for some light reading then this book will deliver. If you're looking for complex characters you might be disappointed.

Loved this one...a new twist. Want to read more of Sands' work.

Sands has a tendency to repeat herself. I got really annoyed with this especially when the same thing would be repeated on the very same page! And at the end when her momentum was going pretty well she ruined it once again by beating me over the head with details she had already gone over.
I do like her take on where the vampires came from. But there seem to be many holes in her plot line. Then again this is the first in a rather large series so she could clear some things up later.
I do plan on reading the next book. I was really not that into this read until about 2/3 of the way through but I was warned that her first book is more set up than anything else...she could have avoided that by not repeating herself over and over...
All in all it was an okay read...

This paranormal romance is presented as a comedy, a much lighter take on 'the vampire genre' then many you will find. This alone makes it stand out from the crowd, but despite the unique angle, it is not extraordinary.
Lissianna is a vampire who happens to be afflicted with hemophobia (she faints at the sight of blood). Greg is a psychologist who specializes in phobias. Lissianna's mother kidnaps Greg and presents him to Lissianna as a birthday present in hopes that he will cure her phobia. She, however, mistakes him for a snack--and also finds herself desperately attracted to him. The feeling is evidently mutual, thus romance ensues.
There really are some laugh-out-loud moments, especially in the beginning. It's situational comedy at its best.
There are also some rather sweet moments between Greg and Lissianna. Sands does a fair job at establishing their feelings for one another, even in the midst of all the silliness.
Despite the fact that this book is entertaining at times, overall it falls into the category of average. The world that Sands presents is not very unique when compared to anything else in the paranormal or fantasy genres. As such, experienced readers may find it predictable and boring.
The characters are too many, and not all that well developed. We are presented with an entire cast of cousins, far to many to keep track of, and we really aren't told much about them to make them memorable. Even the main characters are undeveloped and somewhat unbelievable. I had particular trouble with Greg. I simply could not understand what motivated him throughout the story to stay with Lissianna, what kept him from being angry with her family, or why in the end he fell in love with her (the emotion is made plain, but not the rationale).
There were moments in the plot, even those more serious moments, when I simply felt that the book was way too silly. The antics of the book's villain, a priest with a drive to kill vampires, were ridiculous and not particularly funny.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a light, fun read. I advise that it is not meant to be taken seriously, and will likely not appeal to many of the more jaded paranormal romance readers.

I've read almost all of this series - this happened to be one of the last I got so obviously they can be read out of order. These are fun books to read, not too serious and varied characters.

Can it really get any better? I like this series a lot to begin with. It's been awhile since I've read one of the series, so to be honest, I had forgotten how much! This is actually the first of the series. No matter if you have read any of the series or not, it was a spectacular book! All of the books I've read by this author have a good deal of humor, and this one was no exception. I've always like the character of Greg when he's appeared in other books, but I think this book has made him one of my favorites. Lissiana was better than I expected too. If you haven't read any of this series, I definitely recommend reading this one first (even though...I believe it was written out of order lol). If you have read any of the series, then grab a hot beverage of choice and enjoy!!

I didn't like this book. I spent over half the book waiting for the story line to pick up. All that went on was for Greg to decide if he was going to treat Lissianna or not. Gave up on it. Too slow

I started this series with the third one, Single White Vampire, and loved it! So I quickly picked up the beginning of the series. However, I was disappointed in this one. There wasn't much sizzle between the hero and heroine, and there wasn't much depth to the book at all. I felt like it was thrown together. I also like my heroes to be vampires (with all the alpha tendencies, and special abilities that go with that). In this case, the heroine is the vampire (and her entire family), and the hero is not and is lucky he doesn't get his butt kicked most of the time, being surrounded by all these people with special abilities! I plan on reading #2 in the series and hope for the best. BTW, you don't need to read this one to appreciate the others in the series (like #3), so I would skip it.
Great to finally read the first of this series! Cute and funny like Lyndsay Sands other books in this family series. Can't wait until she gives us Thomas' story.
I enjoyed this book and will look forward to the sequels. It had a unique take on Vampires, especially that Lissianna faintes at the sight of blood. There are times when the story drags a little bit but redeems itself and picks up in the middle. It is interesting to find out how Lissiana's mother really thinks of her daughter and Greg together after all. Overall, I enjoyed the book.
Loved this book! It was fun and believable. Great romance read!
Well, What can I say, I got bored with the book. I suffered through the chapters and stop at chapter 15. So, I post this book to any fans of Sands and hope that you enjoy it because I did not.
This book was ok. I had read Single White Vampire (book #3) first and thought it was very funny, so I am trying the series. I am not reading them in any order. I do think Single White Vampire is better though. It is an easy read. I read it in one day.
i loved this book. i am looking to get the rest of them. if you enjoy a good vampire book thats also sweet and romantic this is perfect. :) its a funny book and soo sweet. :)
Cute book and a quick, light read. Basic romance novel with a vampire twist. Looking forward to reading the rest of the Argeneau Series. Gave it 3.5 stars.

I like the series. However, Laurell Hamilton is stil my favorite.
My coworkers have all been reading the lynsay sands books. So I dedcided I would try one. This is the first book in the series. It was a fun easy read. Mostly a romance more than anything. Overall I enjoyed it and have the next book on my wishlist!
A perfect blend of funny, cute, sexy, steamy, and contemporary. Introduces a number of quirky, fun characters and sets stage for future books while also telling a convincing love story with enough heat and romance to warm the pages. More of the Sookie Stackhouse vampire genre than JR Ward or Laurell K Hamilton. Cuter, sweeter, rather less graphic love scenes but enough to still make the book enjoyable for romance readers. Keeper!
Quick read, great vamp romance! Gotta read the next in the series!!!
Best book I have ever read!!! Love the Lynsay Sands Argeneau Vampire series!!!
The book was mediocre at best.
A great vampire romance - likeable characters, unbelievable storyline but hey, we are dealing with vampires here!

Found this book only okay, and kind of boring. I just couldnt really get into the book. But a great different take on how/why they are vampires. Wish I could have enjoyed it more.
I had trouble getting into this one. But, I did really enjoy the last third.
Unique twist on the vampire genre but the story couldn't keep my interest. Too wordy without enough action.
Excellent book!
Just okay. Not the best in the series in my estimation.
This was a good book
Not my usual type of vampire romance but an enjoyable read none the less.

Good read. It is pretty weird reading the book backwards in the series, but it is fun all the same.

I give this book 3 stars, only because it made me laugh in a couple places....

VERY GOOD I LOVED IT
This is the first book in the Argeneau Vampire series. Right now there are 28 books in the Argeneau Vampire series. This was a pretty typical vampire paranormal romance. It was okay but the plot was really thin.
I listened to this on audiobook and didn't like the narrator much. The narrator sounded like a breathy public service announcer and was distracting and hard to listen to.
There were some things I enjoyed about this book that set it apart from other paranormal romances. I loved the explanation about the nanos that make these âvampireâ immortals; there was some fascinating history here and it was an interesting concept. I also enjoyed the tight and caring relationships between Lissianna and her family. I liked how Lissi is a kind and caring, yet capable, heroine.
There were a number of things I thought were lacking as well. I just never really felt the chemistry between Lissi and Greg; the relationship felt a bit dry to me. I also struggled with the lack of any plot (aside from Greg finding out about vampires). Sands does try to throw in a bit of a life or death scenario towards the end of the book but this was kind of just thrown in there and felt contrived.
Overall this was an okay PNR book but I wasn't all the impressed. There are some unique elements to this series but they weren't enough to offset the lack of any plot and the vanilla feel of the novel.

I love this book. It's a great read.
Another great story in the Argeneau series!
Great book, for me it was a fast read, but very good anyways
Fun, but with a slow start
Just as good as the other vamp books by Lynsay Sands.
Bought this to try someone new in the vampire books. It was very good. Would read more of her books.
Great series, can't wait for the next one.
Another wonderful book about the Argeneau family this one is lissianna's story
Not as good as her other vampire books, but still a good read.
I've like every Argeneau book in the series. A good adaptation into the modern world in my view. I like Ms Sands characters and her interaction of them as they appear and re-appear in the series.
Lissianna is a vampire, and she has been waiting for centuries for Mr. Right. However, every time she bites Mr. Right Now she faints at the sight of blood. What does a doctor have to say about it?
Clever writing; fun read.
Love the vampire series!
LISSIANNA HAS BEEN SPENDING HER CENTURIES PINING FOR MR. RIGHT,NOT JUST A QUICK SNACK,AND THIS SEXY GUY SHE FINDS IN HER BED LOOKS LIKE HE MOGHT BE A CANDIDATE. BUT THERE'S ANOTHER, MORE PRESSING ISSUE: HER TENDENCY TO FAINT AT THE SIGHT OF BLOOD...AN ESPECIALLY ANNOYING QUIRK FOR A VAMPIRE. OF COURSE IT DOESN'T HURT THAT THIS MAN HAS A DELICIOUS-LOOKING NECK. WHAT KIND OF COLD-BLOODED VAMPIRE WOMAN COULD RESIST A BITE OF THAT? I REALLY ENJOYED THIS BOOK,FUNNY AND SEXY. WHAT ELSE CAN I SAY,IT'S A LYNSAY SANDS.
