This is the first book I've given a 5-star rating, so that shows how much I loved it. It was quick and easy reading but the plot was excellent. I loved Niema Burdock's character, very unpredictable. I hope the author decides to turn Niema and John's characters into repeating characters in her other books. This is the first Linda Howard book I've read and she's got me snagged!

John Medina, the mega-alpha hero, was everything I'd hoped and more. Superb story, excellent characters. I finished it in one night and immediately wanted to read it again.

Five years ago, CIA Agent John Medina and Communications Expert Niema Burdock were on a mission in Iran that went terribly wrong, resulting in the death of colleagues, including Niema's husband. Now they meet again when John needs Niema for another mission. This time he wants Niema to go undercover and bug the home of a french arms dealer. After vowing to never go into the field again, Niema realizes she is ready for some excitement. Getting back into the espionage game may be part of that excitement, but what really makes her heart start beating is working with John again.

This book has been sitting on my shelf a long time. I'm glad I finally decided to read it. John Medina was introduced in the book "Kill and Tell". But we really didn't know too much about him until this book. He is a guy who puts everything into his job, and believes there is no room in his life for a relationship. Look out when he changes his mind. He'll stop at nothing to win his lady. Niema is a smart, strong woman who lost the man she loved. I enjoyed seeing her come out of her shell once again when she was around John. I was also intrigued by the villain in this story. He is not the usual one dimensional character we see in so many books. My rating: 5 Stars.
