Given this book's first chapter, I was immediately intrigued and anticipated a unique reading experience. While the rest of the book didn't "live up" to the first chapter, it was an interesting journey into the mind of a character who makes a long series of unhealthy choices. I couldn't support Queenie's actions but she gave me insight into people who make similar real-life decisions.
The audiobook is a great way to read this title; Shvorne Marks is masterful in her use of multiple accents to add authenticity and clarity to the many characters.

I attempted to read this book three different times over the past year from 2019 to 2020. It is just not for me. I have read some pleasant reviews on it. But, I am not able to get into it. Therefore, I have given this book away. I hope the next person finds it more worthy to read this book.
