if you read roots and loved it you'll love Queen it's the story of an american family
This is a book about Alex Haley's paternal side of the family. It shows the beginning of his family starting with his great great grandfather James Jackson from Ireland. It shows how Queen's life was being born a slave to the young master of the house.
It was a great story that I believe everyone should read. It clearly depicted the past in a way that brought it alive. I believe that this was one of Alex's last novels. David Stevens did an excellent job finishing the book with style and even though this is not the book that Alex would have written, I believe he would be proud of how it turned out.

This is a phenomenal book. I was young when roots was out so I had never seen it. I saw this first and fell in love so I had to read the book. Great telling of the story and great descriptions. The book is much better than the movie although I really loved the movie too. Most acting was great some was ok but over all great for a tv movie.
The book is huge but was so interesting I read it pretty quickly.
