Queen Elizabeth II is a story of adultery, jealousy, and mental cruelty, as lived by the Royal Family in Buckingham Palace.
Readers learn about the change that came over Elizabeth upon being crowned: she banned Prince Philip from her bed for several years, committing herself toa marriage to the throne. Philip's many adulterous affairs are discussed, as well as Elizabeth's one exramarital romance and the warning she was given to end it.
In addition, Queen Elizabeth II describes the breakups of the royal marriages. Diana is being isolated from the Crown, although she refuses to give up her privileged life. At one point, Charles withdrew from his affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles to revive his image as future King, but took up with his sons' nanny. All of this appalls the Queen, who carries on in the best traditions of the monarchy. Hers is a life of absolute luxury, and in the midst of untold wealth, she behaves like a miser.
