Author: Meg Cabot
What's an American girl with a big mouth, but an equally big heart, to do? — Lizzie Nichols has a problem, and it isn't that she doesn't have the slightest idea what she's going to do with her life, or that she's blowing what should be her down payment on a cute little Manhattan apartment on a trip to London to visit her long-distance boyfriend, ...  more »

Cute story. The premise sort of reminded me of "Can You Keep a Secret?" by Sophie Kinsella; some other things reminded me of other books..sort of flightly girl (Lizzie), in love with fashion (reminds me of kinsella - shopaholic), is dating a british boy, and visits him for the summer, but when she realises that this boyfriend commits welfare fraud, she leaves him. Lizzie runs off to France to help her best friend cater a wedding. There she meets Luke (chateau owners son) and gets a very big crush. But Luke has a girlfriend.. Meanwhile Lizzie is considered to have a big mouth by her friends - thus the name of the book, but it didn't seem that way to me (much less babbling than you would think for a book named this. Maybe should have been named after her fashion obssession instead? Not that I disliked this proclivity). Drama ensues as Lizzie and friends run around orchestrating a large wedding.

Yes it's chick lit. Yes the characters are almost half my age. But I loved this book! It's a really quick and easy read and I found myself really attached to, and rooting for, Lizzie. Plus, a read a few pages to my husband because I was a bit afraid that I *am* Lizzie in real life (the babble part), and he just laughed and said, "Oh my god - they wrote a book about you - we should sue them!." He was just kidding, of course. About the suing.

I didn't really expect to like this book. I'm not a big fan of chick lit or Meg Cabot. BUT I enjoyed this book so much and am already looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Lizzie, Chaz, Luke, and Shari were all such likeable characters and the story line was funny and sweet. I was happily impressed with this book!

AWESOME book! Finished it in one day. Very funny. Reminds me of a combination of Sophie Kinsella's Shopaholic and Can You Keep a Secret. Very funny and a quick read!

I think I read this book before, but forgot to put it on my list. It was worth a 2nd read. I love her quick writing style. This is the 1st part of three books in this series. Written in the same manner as the Shopaholic series. Fun book; good for some beach reading!

If you love Chick Lit, this is a story for you!

Lizzy Nicholes is your typical American twenty something who is all about the history of fashion design and of course, the diet! Big hearted and honest, her major problem is keeping her mouth shut, which turns out to be too difficult for her most of the time.

Lizzie thinks she is in love with a man from London that she met in college (very briefly) and has been chatting up on line and on the phone for three months since he returned to England. Somewhat responsibly she saves up her money for a visit a few months later and as turns out, he is a bit of a loser! She can't just go home to her family, espeically her older sisters who are waiting patiently to say, "told ya so"!

So off she goes to find her friends who are staying with another friend in France.

On the long train ride, she meets and shares all her secrets with a handsome, intelliectual, rich and charming man. Turns out, his family owns the vinyard which she will be staying at. Pretty predictable from there.
