This was a great book and thoroughly enjoyable. The h/h were involved in a storyline that had them acting very out of character for the typical regency romance novel. I loved the depth of character that they exhibited. They were very real and relatable. They also provided some nice perspectives on life and how other people in the world live compared to the their very privileged and sheltered lives in the ton. The relationship that develops between them is so fun and easy to imagine. I could easily believe that "true love" could develop between them because of their experiences together, whereas some of the typical romantic relationships in other romance novels "just happen", almost with no rhyme or reason. These two really get to know each other and have to work through differences in the way they approach life and each other. The book is hard to lay down. I would read it again in a heartbeat and was sad when it was over, yet very satisfied that a solid and loving couple had come together in the end.

The book also gives you a taste of the stories to follow along this series. I cannot wait until they come out. I hope they will be as great and enjoyable as this one was.

I highly recommend this book.

If you have read the Scandal's Son series this is a continuation but these are the girl's stories. These could definitely be read without having read the guy's stories, however if you are like me I always like to read them in order. Especially if something in the book makes reference to something/connection that happened before. This series is more interlinked since they all have the main plot of a supposed ton lady who has posed nude for a portrait. Each book starts off with same situation just different character's views.

This is Rebecca Leland's story. We were first introduced to Rebecca in Never Dare a Duke and then again in Never Marry a Stranger (that story had involved her brother). We also have some brief introductions of other previous characters such as Leo Wade (brother in Viscount in Her Bedroom) and Peter Darby (Never Marry a Stranger).

The thing I liked about this story was as more & more clues emerged regarding the necklace worn in the portrait, you still are unaware of the motives, etc behind it until the very end. It also leaves you wanting to read the next ladies story right away. Elizabeth Cabot & Peter Darby is next with Susannah Leland and Leo Wade last.
