A challenge to the "casual" Christian.
Brief, readable chapters on holiness and what it means in our lives.
What does it mean to be holy and how do you do it? This book gives scriptural answers
Outstanding book on the sovereignty of God. Nobody puts it quite like Jerry Bridges.
if i could, i would give it more than five stars. read this book to understand:
how God has equipped us to lead holy lives
guidelines for determining right from wrong
how reaso and emotions play influence our will
how habits and personal discipline play a part in holy living

While a challenging read for the average reader, Mr. Bridges clearly outlines the reasoning for attempting to live a holy life and how we, as Christians, are called to do so. Whether or not this is obtainable is a different subject altogether, but Mr. Bridges is able to assist in fully understanding that such a life is what we are instructed and helps the Holy Spirit in convicting of Biblical truth. I was not fully convinced, prior to my reading of this book, that I should be making any attempt to "live a holy life" - my teachings have pointed towards attempting to live the law is futile and even outdated per Paul's writings, but Mr. Bridges addresses these subjects. Such a timely read for me, I know it was the Lord's doing for this book to reach my hands and eyes when it did, so that it would also reach my heart. For spiritual growth and in God's timing, a must-read.
Great book, a must read for anyone serious about growing closer to God and being real with yourself.
Also would be happy to ship the matching study guide (no ISBN number for it, but published at the same time)

An excellent book as long as you don't mind some underlining.
