I gave The Puppet King 2 1/2 stars, and 2 of them were for effort. I was not impressed by Douglas Niles's writing style, and the book was a bit of a disappointment as that it had very little to do with what I originally thought was supposed to be the plot, IMO. Other people may enjoy this book but I did not, and I don't recommend it to Gilthas fans. If you're a fan of Porthios then read this book.
