Not as enjoyable as I had hoped, but maybe my expectations were too high. There were a few insights, but I would have liked to see a little more detail. I enjoyed the section on UPS the most--it was the first job described, so then it went downhill for me.

Pretty interesting book about a journalist taking a series of âfront lineâ jobs at companies such as UPS, Gap, Starbucks and the like. His interest is in seeing how these giant brands indoctrinate their employees to âbe the brand.â It was interesting to have an âinsider'sâ view of each company that is so familiar to you. Kind of reminded me a little bit of Gig (a fantastic book about tons of different people from all walks of life talking about their jobsâ"definitely a must-read!). Although this was kind of a âresearchâ project and there are some business things thrown in, it reads much more like the author's personal diaries of each job.
