Part of a series about horses of the world, Przewalskis Horse explores the wild beast that once roamed the wilds of Mongolia, and with the assistance of some dedicated conservationists will do so once more. (I will not be spoiling the ending to reveal that the horse was extinct in the wild, but is being reintroduced from captive born-and-bred beasts.)
The book is aimed at younger readers, and appears to deliver. The illustrations are well-chosen and well-placed, and important words that the reader may not be familiar with have their phonetic pronunciation provided. There is also very good supplemental material, including a glossary and a reference section in the back.
Worth a read, especially for young animal lovers.
RATING: 4 stars.
