Kerry is a teacher in a small town who has visions relating to a recent killing. Adrian is a former agent who the sheriff asks to protect Kerry because the killers know she has been aiding the police in their investigation. It had spooky moments and was a fun read but was occasionally preachy about the reasons for Kerry's visions and her life philosophy. I really liked the wounded hero who dared to love again.

If you read any of the conard county series you will love this book. The next generation refers back to the characters in the original series. Must read if you are a rachel lee conard county fan
