This book is about an abortion case. If that is a touchy subject for you, don't read the book. Especially if you are pro-life.

This book goes into great depth on the abortion issue specifically late term abortion and its constitutionality. No matter which side you're on it will definitely make you think. As for me, I now have a different appreciation for the other sides views. The book also takes you into the nomination of a Supreme Court judge and how each side of the aisle mud sling and try to undermine each other to get their way in the process. It's a very good story with strong currents of todays world.

President Kerry Kilcannon must appoint a new chief justice of the Supreme Court within days of taking the oath of office. His choice is "a female judge with a brilliant record. And a secret." A major abortion rights case is coming to the Supreme Court during all of this and "the most divisive issue in America turns the president's nomination into an all-out war."

This author rivals John Grisham - very well written book concerning abortion issues/laws. I could not put this book down.

I heard Patterson speak as the keynote speaker at the National Abortion Federation meeting a few years ago soon after this book was published and got a signed and dedicated copy as I was an active abortion provider at that time. This book is a really good dissection of the hypocracy of some of the real anti-abortion fanatics and the problems they cause, especially for their own family members. It is a really good novel, too.
