This was my first Michael Koryta book. It was alright, but it went on and on about high school football. The author could have gotten the point across much sooner without spending over half the book on it. That time would have been better spent focusing on the crime(s), which what the back of the book says the story is about. A disappointment.
Fast moving, kept my interest, good story telling, not run of the mill thriller
I think this is a good story, fairly well written. The story moves pretty well although it is somewhat predictable. Still a good read in my opinion.
I didn't get very far before I started skipping and skimming trying to find a good place to find the actual story! a book has to offer me something in the first 50-100 pages and this one does not
It doesn't start out with the story very good at all, it gives mostly just a description of the football game, players, etc. which I wasn't the least bit interested in at all, so the skipping and skimming was trying to find a place to get started on the story but I never found it, instead I found it to be just long drawn out and boring.

The other books that I have read by this author always contained a little sci-fi aspect. This one was different. The fact that he wrote so much about football and sportsmanship really did not appeal to me. So I was not so fond of this story but the writing was very good. I am just not a sports fan. Also I noticed that all the reviews on this book were from women, so maybe men would appreciate the story more.
