Another great book. A lot of mystery, suspense, and of course romance. The heroine, Marianne, is a strong woman who can take care of herself. It's not like some of the historical books that you read where the lady ALWAYS needs a man. She stands on her own. A very well written book.

I really liked this book. It was a fun romance with a mysterious twist to it.

Placed in an orphanage after the murder of her parents, the eldest child of Lord and Lady Chilton had given up any hope that her family in England would ever look for her. Marie Anne, now known as Marianne Cotterwood, has little experience with love, but cannot deny her attraction to the suspicious and arrogant Lord Lambeth. When Marianne is the victim of some lethal "accidents," it becomes clear that someone is looking for her after all. Someone who does not want her to discover her true identity.

Loved it. 2nd book in series of 3. Can't wait to read #3.
i have enjoyed this series. Although the mystery is fairly transparent, it is fun to get there
Lord Lambeth can't help but be captivated by lovely Marianne Cotterwood though he knows she's hiding a secret. The desire he feels forthis mysterious woman is powerful, as is his need to unravel her mystery...Marianne can't remember anything of her life before she ended up in an orphanage. Her future changes again when she is taken in by a warmly eccentric family of pickpockets and thieves. Marianne's inborn grace makes her a natural thief, mingling with ease among the wealthy to find pigeons to pluck. Then Lord Lambeth catches her in the act. But someone else is interested in Marianne's secrets, as well. A dangerous shadow from her past is closing in, and Marianne finds she has no choice but to place her trust in the one man she fears may be as reckless as she.. Not the usual run-of-the-mill romance novel.
Very enjoyable. Good plot and romance.
