Lauren and Tom had loved each other since their childhood in Texas. When Lauren's family moves to England, Tom promises to come for her when he has enough money. Ten years have passed and Lauren has given up hope. Suddenly Tom appears in London, claiming to be the lost Earl of Sachse. Lauren believes he abandoned her years ago, but things are not as they seem.
This is a very good historical romance with likeable characters. You can't help rooting for Tom and hoping he can win back Lauren. The epilogue was very unique...a definite tearjerker. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

Another bit of fluff that I picked up for a long plane ride. It's nice for a day where you don't want to have to think about what you're reading, you just want to read.

Lorraine Heath has written another wonderful love story. Tom & Lauren met as children and he loved her at first sight. She left Texas when her mother remarried into aristocracy. Lauren always wanted to return to Texas and was on the verge of doing just that when Tom whom she had known as an orphan in Texas was discovered to be the heir to a vast manor in England. The final paragraph of this book will bring tears to your eyes. Keep the Kleenex handy.
