Helpful Score: 1
Continuing with the storyline in The Passion, Boyd furthers her captivating tale which will upset the balance of the pack and further reveal the secret mark that one human has left upon it.
Sequel to the passion.Loved it.
Good book.
great book
A tale of werewolves. Donna Boyd is to werewolves what Anne Rice is to vampires.
After reading the first in the series, "The Passion", I couldn't wait to read "The Promise". I'm not sure I liked the second book as well as the first, but I did like it. Ms. Boyd spins a great story of the werewolf. It isn't like any other fiction I have read about the fictitious creatures. She leaves the reader dangling and salivating (no pun intended) for book three.
Great sequel to "the Passion." Boyd does a remarkable job of taking a very unlikable character opposite the main character and making you like them both and caring what happens to them.
Similar in style to Anne Rice's vampire novels, The Promise instead focuses on a clan of beings who have been around since before the the time of man. They are smilar to man, except for one important factor -- they have two shapes, not just one, with the ability to take the shape of a wolf or a man. Also, their senses are heightened beyond that of either form's natural senses. I truly enjoyed this book, and am reluctant to let it go into the wild. A book is never the same twice, however, and I would hate to see it lose it's magic for me.
I am always on the hunt for new authors. Ms Boyd's story did NOT disappoint! I found Ms. Boyd's story an original tale of intrique. The characters were personable and refreshing. For those readers that enjoy Anne Rice and her vampire tales, those same readers may enjoy this series on werewolves and their world.
If you love werewolves this is the book for you! This is book 2 of a 2 book series. Book 1 is the Passion. Both are so good that I would read them both again! You don't HAVE to read book 1 to understand book 2, but it helps pull it all together.
I read this book and the first in the series (The Passion) in one day. I couldn't put them down. Loved them both!
